I have had my srx for about a year and love the power and speed. I completely destroyed the track that is on it. So I'm gonna get a good one.

I was talking to a local small engine mechanic and he says He can put a used M10 in my srx and a decent track for a price. Lets say 1600 all said and done.

Do you think it would be worth it to put a m10 in my srx. Or would it kill the handling and speed?

Some problems I have not are:
Cant keep up with newer sleds over the rough stuff. Sometime thats all day long
Back gets sore.
I broke apart allot of the welds on the stock suspension driven it like a ***. I kinda know the limits to it now.

I do like being able to beat almost all the people I ride with in a lake race. And how good it handles on the trails.

Im not too sure what way to go here. Earthier new track or track and suspension.

If you have the bucks $$$$$...do it.It can't be any worse.Me,well I put on a 1" Predator 6 pitch track .Was told by many it is a good speed track.I decided to put a SXR long travel suspension on my SRX.Shocks are re-valved,oversized wheels, marginal snow wheels, all new bearings, beefed up w-arm with extra grease zerks put in.This will be sufficient enough for me.I couldn't see myself spending$1200 on a different suspension.I will save the money and look for another SRX,probably a 98 or 01.

figure a new m-10 and track would only cost 1700 plus labor. Seems a little hi to me. For 1600 I'd go woth a new zx2 from ad bovin at 1300 and a new track from CB PERF or Richmotorsports for around 300, and have all new. Maxdlx

I would think a used m-10 and a GOOD track should only cost you $900-$1000 ! So heck i`ll put it in for you for alot less than $600! But i know where your coming from as my original skid would NOT take the abuse and i broke about every pc in it.

My 2001 SXR has 10,000 km's on it and not a thing broke.Checked it all over a few weeks back.Took w-arm out and could not see anything cracked on it.Rails are good,a-arm,shocks have been serviced.I do some crazy driving with it.It is my ditch banger and I do get air-borne with it and do hard landings with no problems.Love that little 600.It has never failed me,maybe the pull start rope broke once..that is minor.I have that sled pinned all the way.I look for dangerous and high jumps and take them head on.And that triple in it is bullet proof I'll tell ya.

I installed an M-10 skid in my 98 700sx and the benifits of the better ride far out weight the increase in ride height. The key is to have patience and set-up your skid for the proper amount of sag so your actual ride height is not that much more. The M-10 is probably the main reason I still have the sled. 14000 km and counting. And yes you will loose speed....roughly 5 mph.
