Looking for some advice before I spend some money.
I'm looking at putting a FAST M-10 in my SRX. Is it a good fit?
Has anyone done this? What are the pro's and con's. Will I loose any speed/handling or accelleration?
What should I do about the front shocks?

Do a search under M10 and under Expert-X. Lots of reading on both.

You also have other options such as a Polaris Pro-x or Edge, etc. All depends on your budget/desired end result.
You will lose 5mph top end with a M10 IMO.
You will lose no top end with an Expert.
Expert has more transfer than a M10, and is more for aggressive riding, M10 is a very well mannered trail suspension, not so great in real rough.
There is also the new composite Boivin ZX-2 suspension this year:

In my opinion for my riding/area the Expert is the ideal suspension, but others will have varying opinions based on their own preferences.
You will have to research, and then decide for yourself.

I would love to be able to compare the difference between the M-10 and the Expert-X right now, but it turns out I don't actually have any seat time on my expert yet!
The M-10 is a very smooth riding suspension, great for all around riding really but completely lacks weight transfer when stock. You can take about 3/8" off the transfer blocks to fix this.
The Expert-X apparently transfers weight HUGE!!! (I can't wait to try it out and see if it's really true) I personally like just enough weight transfer to get the skiis off the ground a couple of inches.
Top speed will be reduced anywhere between 3-5 mph in most cases with the M-10.
The Expert-X shouldn't lose much if any.
The sled will feel a little tippier in the corners no matter what skid you buy IMO, the higher your sled sits, the tippier it's going to be unless you get a wide front end kit. Others will tell you different and that by adding a stiffer sway bar you will get flat cornering. This is true, but it will never be the same as when the sled was sitting as low as it was stock. This is just my opinion, i've never actually tried a stiffer sway bar with the M-10.
The M-10 is also a very tough suspension, I pounded on that thing for a good 3,000 miles and there is not a single problem with it. Minimal wear and no damaged parts.
The expert-x... has a few updates to strengthen the swingarm, not really a problem, but something to watch out for. They also have a tendancy to develop hairline cracks in one specific location on the slide rails... easy fix, again no big deal.
As far as install, the M-10 went ok. A little tricky at times to understand the instructions but it took me about 8 hours from start to finish by myself (I was 16 at the time, so I'm sure most other people could do it a bit faster.) It helps to have an extra set of hands around to hold stuff in place while laying out your hole locations.
I will be installing my expert X in my SRX this weekend, so I will let you know how that went hopefully by Monday.
So far the only complaint I have with the Expert X is the damn red loctite they put on all the bolts!!! LOL
A new M-10 will cost you $1,200 for the base model, plus taxes, plus shipping, plus the duty charges since you are north of the border... I think (if I remember right) when it was all said and done it cost me about $1,800 to my door for the base model.
I will be selling my M-10 shortly if you're interested in a used one. I'm located near Owen Sound about an hour and a half south west of Barrie. Everything is included but the rivets needed for install. The rest of the mount kit is all here including the pro-action template.
Just like SRXer said above me. These are just my opinions and you'll really have to research all the options out there to find out what's best for you. Whichever way you go (M-10 or Expert X - even another brands OEM skid) will be a great improvement over the stock pro-action suspension.
Good Luck

Keep in mind also that there is a reason that I got an Expert X this season and am getting rid of my M-10... I was still looking for a smooth ride, but I feel that the Expert might be the skid for my riding area/style. I am sure I will have more good things to say about the Expert, but I won't really be able to give you a first hand comparison until this season is over.

Thanks for the detail. What do you want for your M-10?
You must be close to me because I live just south east of Barrie and I ride a lot in the Bruce Penisula as my in-laws have a farm near Lion's head.
Thanks again.

Front Suspension
Does anyone have a set of front SXR or viper shocks for sale?
I've heard they'll fit the SRX and give the front more travel. Is that true?
The radio station is Calling for 10-15cm of snow tonight in Barrie. Ground is not frozen but it's a good sign.
Thanks!
