hey guys

who makes the best trailer? Sled bed, triton? i want a quality trailer
i havnt been able to come across a trailer that fits the bill yet

ive been looking for a trailer. i want a 2 place drive on drive off with salt shields. so if you know of anybody who is selling one let me know. im willing to travel with in a reasonable distance to get one.

Triton hands down! Unless you are looking for enclosed which I have a 4 place wells cargo that is very nice.

I have a Triton In-line enclosed trailer that is fantastic but for what you are looking for I must agree that floe makes the best! You will pay a premium for it but I feel it is worth every penny, even a used one will cost you.

trailer

I picked up a 12ft drive-on/off Triton with a cap on it. Really nice trailer. Seems to be well built.

for what it's this is worth, I have a TRITON aluminum, 12 foot, "V" front, 2 place (drive on and drive off with salt shield) and I have had nothing but problems with it... the frame is built very light duty... BOTH main rails have broken in half just above the axle... scabbed new ones (sent by Triton) along side and had them welded to the old rails and to the ribs, but still found them to bend with a load of two sleds or two quads....

the axle is very light duty also.... I was burning tires off in very short mileage... the inside edge of each tire was wearing much too quickly....

in the end, I ended up placing a solid oak 8 foot long 4"x5" beam under each (now doubled rails) and clamped it all together... also, self re-arched the axle to give much more camber when without load... the wheels then were more vertical with load on.....

the trailer works as it should now, but, with a frame built properly and a 3000 lb axle (vs a 2000 lb axle), I wouldn't have spent so much money on tires and on someone having to weld it up....

Can't comment on any other brands but this trailer has been a disappointment until I rigged it myself...

Triton people said I was the only person who ever complained of their rails breaking/cracking, but if you search hard enough on this fourm, you'll find others who had similar problems..

the roads we travel on are far from great, however, we drive appropriate speeds for conditions... the trailer seems much too light duty... perhaps a galvanized steel vs aluminum would be better? one thing for sure, the 2000 lb Dexter Tortion axle just isn't enough....

I prefer the Newmans sled bed. I think it has a better tilt latch, and the edges of the bed are rolled instead of a 90 dagree adge thats rather sharp on the Triton.

I have a 10 ft enclosed drive on drive off Triton that I am happy with. Prior to that I had a Karavan that had constant issues. I do feel that Floe is the best, but as stated before, it will cost you.

I love my new Snow Pro Xtreme. It great for quads too... tows easy. Its a quality product.

I have one with the Fiberglass cap on it like in the ad. Really like the trailer, mine is a 10 ft, wish that I would have gotten a 12ft. I did put the bigger wheels under it and it tows like a dream.

I have a 1995 10' sled bed that is in great condition. I have had it since new with no real problems. When I was looking it seemed at that time that you would get the best quality for the dollar for the sled bed. It had better tie downs and fit and finish qualities than similar priced manufactures. The floe trailers are also really nice and high quality but the are pricey.

I thought my Sled Bed trailer was nice too - untill both main rails broke where the axle bolt holes are.

I would not recommend buying one. The aluminum extrusions are too thin.

so far its looking like that triton i was looking at on that ad might me a good move I would have to upgrade the wheels tho to 12"or 13" i wish i could get a floe but 2700 without a top, just drive on drive off with salt shields.

I know i dont want a tilt bed but i would need to come up with some extra cash to get the one for 3000. i will find something here coming up.

if anybody knows where there are some good used snowmobile trailers (dealer or not) please say something
