Well, had a decent day at Novi today, once we got there. Between the construction at the bridge and a minor navigational glitch(no Detroit map in the truck for some reason :) ) we wasted about an extra 35-45 minutes getting there. Saw some nice scenery though.

Anyway, bought an Ice Ripper XT from Rich for one of the guys in our group, a case of 0-40w Amsoil for My Dad, Uncle and myself, a Voile shovel from the guys at Sled Solutions and some Klim Radium boots from another vendor.

The kicker is the old guy ordered a 7.5x25 Alumi lite trailer from John's trailer out of Toledo(about 1.5 hours for us one way). Should be ready around the US Thanksgiving.

Talked briefly with Kevin from Port(bought my suit there last year). Should have bought a spare belt from him, oh well.

Also talked to Pro116's cousin at one of the trailer slides booths(name escapes me right now). They also sponsor Nospro. I'm sure one of the guys will jog my memory.

Kind of surprised to see the number of empty spots. Wouldn't say it's dead or anything, but they'll need to correct it for next year.

Had a good time, even without seeing anyone else, and I got to get some goodies.

The turnout of customers was good, but the vendors seemed sparse. The mood seemed a bit dampened, but we went Saturday instead fo Friday. Friday tends to be more of a party crowd.

Highlight for me was looking at Doos new XP....LOL, to some up....GARBAGE. It maybe light but fit/finish is for sh**, running boards are flemsy, and the only thing protecting the pipe(one light front end crash and itll be toast) from damage is a chinsey bumper. Any one that would pay that price tag for that sled needs to have they eyes checked cause Yami's Engineering/Design Vs. Doo's is honeslty no contest IMO.

Thanks for the studs Rich.

Brett

I have been going to the Novi show for the last 12 plus years and this years show was the weakest one yet. I am wondering if it is the Michigan economy or the booth rental costs in the Rock Financial Show Place that has brought this show down. I think the best Snow Show ever was the first year in the new Rock Financial Show Place 3 years ago?

This years Snow Show was all about Ski-Doo gear and beer stands. I cant remember there being as many beer stands as there were in this years show. G.B.

I looked for Richsmotorsports with no luck to say Hi. We went Sunday and it was pretty good for that day? I could not find a box of br9es plugs, everyone was out?

What did you guys think of the Concept sled and the Snow cross sled?

It was a down year for vendors in my opinion too, only 4 trailer manufacturers. Lots of Canadian chamber of commerce type places and some UP but not like I remember (offering discounts and sledder packages.)
I got what I was looking for but that was only because Rich brought my parts with him (thanks again.) And Highland always has a good supply of jackets (I don't mind paying 75% off for 3 year old stuff!)

Could have used some more time to browse and search for deals as the displays seemed more cramped in areas and spread out in others. Small booths in one area did make it tougher to check them out.

I thought the concept was cool. and gabbed at the Yamaha rep about it, said it is based off of the FX chassis. How do you like the silver cloth? <-its called teksilium (tek-silly-um) and is actually fiberglass cloth impregnated with real aluminum to ge the stranded look. I thinkin bout makin some parts out of stuff like that in the near future. T

The snow cross sled was cool to but some of the fabrication work was shoddy....yeah I know, ITS a GO FAST sled... nuf

I thought the silver seat was cool too. It said DON"T TOUCH, so I did not. Cool stuff though. I have a pic of both the concept and snow cross to post later tonight.

I did get a cool Yamaha 40th Annv.long sleeve shirt at Highland.

The show is good to start of the season.

I dunno if your talking about the hood or the seat but the hood is a silver carbon fibre. Most of the front covers were just coloured CF, like the yellow ski covers, hood all carbon fibre. Its just not the traditional colour.
