I'm looking for some input on Viper crank bearings.
I'm in the process of rebuilding my engine after a melt down of the mag side piston. I'm changing the crank seals so I split the case. In checking the bearings I found no slop at all and when rotating the bearings on the crank they feel very smooth. The crank also turns smoothly in the block. I did notice that there was some very small pitting on the PTO bearing rollers and race..Is this okay or should this pricey bearing be replaced?? The sled has 8500 miles on it.
Mr Sled or anyone else - any info is appeciated!!

I would replace it, if you leave it and it self destructs a 1000 miles from now, it will be alot more costly to replace it then, then it is to do now, its had moisture in there at some time during storage, moisture and crankbearings equal=major engine failure!
