i have a 98 msrx 700 with a 136 x 1.5 track 11.5 rear suspension long travel. the front is viper shocks and brackets from betheviper.....i am installing the c&a xt skis.....just wondering the skis come with the 8" carbide from c&a should i opt for the studboy shaper carbides for an extra 30 bucks???the guy off ebay i bought these from says that the ski is way more agressive then the factory ones so i dont need as much of a carbide... anybody here have the shapers and comments on them??? i use the sled for trail/cross country and deep powder....any pros cons for either carbide thanks

I have them on my trail sled. I love them. Really help in the corners when I'm setting an edge. Not too sure if they make a difference in all of the powder, but personally I love them on the trail.

they are by far the best carbides I have ever ran, not saying im an expert or anything on carbides but there is no comparison to the carbides I was running, and they seem to last a lot longer to for some reason... I have had my set for 3 years now and I just changed them (overhauling the rest of the sled figured what was another $100 lol) anyways the old ones were still have decent and could have lasted another season. just my 2 cents

shaper bars
I put some C&As with the cheap 6" carbides on my srx last year. I didnt like them at all. I will be going to a shaper bar next time. Those things are awsome.

I like the shapers!!!! I have 2 vipers (2004 er's) and I prefer the shaper!!!! a BIT COSTLY,,, but eliminates the darting prettymuch!!!

I have 9 inchers with 144 picks. Not too long in my opinion. I run them real hard and no negative feedback in the corners.

I am running 6" shaper bars on stock Viper ski's with 144 picks. I am really happy with how they handle. G.B.

I have ran sharpers on my last 4 sets of skis. loved them, but next set of carbides will be berrgstrom tripples. Scott has guys who have well over 1000 miles on them and they look just like new ones. Sharpers will never mak 1000 miles. Scotts ski savers are well worth it too. Maxdlx

I have dual shapers on USI project skis. Ran with 136" camoplast 1.5" lug, no studs, last 2 years. Handled great.
I have the Shaper " bars with the Berstrom Ski Savers on my C&A Adv and they are GREAT. I got two seasons on them. This is my second pair.

After looking at the keel of thoses skiis..yer gunna notice a difference fer sure...the shaper bars in my opinion are legit and do work well...Berkstrum Skegs have been noted as awesome aswell...but yeah..I'm sure you notice the difference on flat and powdered trails...
