handlebar heaters not working

First thing I would do is hook up each grip on its own to the power wire as they are in series and if one is bad neither work.
Second , the power for them(grips) comes from the cdi box, so if your power output is low without any grips hooked up on your meter, you need a new cdi box.

also, check the rheostat operation(dial on dash), it should change the power , I have had a couple of those bad before as well

After doing all the check's that mrviper700 suggested, I discovered that I had a broken wire in my stator. Didn't have a new or used one handy so we repaired it with a solderon connector and some shrink tubing. Still working the last time I rode it.

Mr viper mentioend CDI box? Not sure but it sounds like an expensive part and I assume once used, if that is not the problem, I wont be able to return it?. All other funtions work on the sled except for handle warmers. Is there somewhere I could get a wire diagram to actually take measurements on various wires. Is ther one power source that is specific to the warmers?? the thumb warmer connection has 12-13 VDC which I assume is right, the handle warmers only 2VDC. Any help would be appreciated.

the easiest check is too simply hook each grip up by itself as they are wired in series and if ones bad neither works, if one works then you know its the other thats bad, that would be the first check i would make, i can walk you thru checking all of it but lests do 1 test at a time to keep it simple.
