Looking for HP numbers for 600 twin mods

Hey thanks for the reply. Nice Pic !
I had purchased a set of '97 cylinders for with the more common intake window / reed cage and triple exhaust ports. I had thought about doing that finger port to allow more direct flow to the transfers like you have there. Wish this 600 was a case-reed !!!
Also upgraded to a '97 cyl head, improved cooling flow in casting I was told... reshaping the chambers to what yielded results on the triples.
Going to use Vforce reeds and the GYT pipes I already have. Full Power Performance figures 135 is reachable with this combo that they proposed, will dyno at DynoTechResearch.com to prove and tune...

How do you like the PSI twins? I sold a set of race PSI twins w/ open stingers that came with my latest 600 XT, never put them on because I trail ride!
Did you do any airbox mods?
Thanks

PSI pipes offer more topend power at about 8200rpms, but I like more that Totaltek single because really good torque at lower rpms. Top end power is just little less...

I ve made dynotech airbox mod for exciter with cold air kit.

I would greatly appreciate directions on how to do that airbox mod and what it is expected to gain if you have something that you could scan and email, or post.

What was meant by "improved cooling" is not in the sled system itself (w/heat exchangers, plumbing, etc) but in the coolant flow thru the head casting. I was told by my engine builder that supposedly Yamaha improved the flow / volume in the '97 and newer castings, better heat transfer from the combustion chamber... better detonation resistance, reason he told me to ditch my '96 head for a '97...

IMO, 135hp would be a little too much to ask from that twin. PSI listed 117hp with lake race porting and twin pipes. That would be sales HP, so 113hp would be a good real world hp. If you make near 120hp, thats very good. Keep in mind what trip SRX600 hp stock. That SRX600 trip had everything to make big HP.

I have a 1995 V-Max 600 to 700 BB..IT RUNS..!!! for what it is..It has a 136" track and its mint..Yammiegod seen it run at Loon Lake...It would come out on the 800's for @ 200'...For trail riding it would need to be tuned down..I put a GYT single pipe on it for trails just have to play with jetting..I have alot of extra stuff...If you want it I would say $2,000.00 out the door and I have a pair of brand new GYT clicker struts for it..As far as Hp in race trim it had to be atleast 135 hp,trail wise it should be @ 127hp...

Dave

Very clean sled.
I see you removed the stock air box. Are you running Uni Filters? How much did the jetting change when changing out the air box. What jet size and elevation do you run the sled at?
I was thinking of pulling my air box on my Vmax 600 and go with the filters. Wasn't sure where to relocated the coil until I saw yours. Nice

Later
