No doubt a cool suspension. Got any pics of it installed on the sled yet? I've been interested in it for a while, but wasn't really all that keen on a solid black plastic suspension. I'm starting to open up to it but really the looks of it on the sled would be all that's left for me to buy it............ if I didn't just buy an Expert. lol

I thought the same thing but the all black will go with my stealth theme on my LE RX1 with the wrinkle black powder coat apex GT front end and all black GYTR shocks.
hopefully someone will find some wheels that are colored that someone coudl add to spice it up. The all black composite up close does look cool just cause its so beefy. Be curious how the snow sticks, its not supposed to so it woudl look nice at every stop if there is no snow in there and you get to show off those burly rails!

I think some billet wheels would look really nice on there. Without coming up close to it you would almost thnk the skid has been powder coated black and would look really nice with some aluminum wheels IMO. Hope you have good luck with the suspension. Post some pics when you're done!!!

I got mine in already!
I got my zx2 suspension mounted in already. I love it looks awesome and gotta love those big 18" wheels. I would post a pic but I don't know how. My only beef with it so far is you can only turn the shock preload adjustors clockwise. So if you want a softer setting have to go all the way through the 7 settings and back around again. I have them set on three since I weigh about 180 Ibs. Love the revolver system, so easy to do.

The revolver is really slick.

Its all nice except the lack of support for the front shaft. The old expert has two massive support arms but the zx2 has none.Hope it works as good as it looks.

A blue zx-2 installed in my '02 viper. Install went pretty good-- had to remove a few more rivets than planned, and ended up being about 8 rivets short, but no big deal. The front swingarm bolt holes weren't co-operating very well when trying to line them up--until we unbolted one end of the limiter strap-- then it went much easier. Track tension seems real tight even with adjusters all the way loose, but I'm sure it'll loosen up after a good rip- and then readjust. Fired it up to center the track and it was making a lot of clickety- clack noise. Not sure what from? I opened up my trunk and found a plastic grocery bag with what appeared to be 3 apples from last season... they were pretty RANK! LOL.

Clicking noise
The clicking noise is caused by the contact of the front of the rails with the track.
When the back end of the machine is raised , the suspension slide forward pushing the rail againt the track. When the machine is in the riding position with the rider on it, the suspension slide back clearing the front of the rails from the track.

That sounds exactly like what it's doing-- was up on stand

I have a question about the ZX2, after looking at it at the Novi Show.
The 2 pivoting arms/mounting points, do they have any sort of bushings inside of the top/bottom of the 2 pivoting arms? Cause from what I SAW its just plastic-metal contact with no bushing or grease points. Which would diff. be a concern for WEAR, so please feel free to clear this up. Thanks

The swingarm shafts, where they mount to the chassis, have aluminum bushings/ caps that fit over the shaft ends. Then the shaft looked like it just slides through the plastic swingarm-- didn't notice any other bushings. Hope that helps

Just seems weird they wouldnt put any kind of bushing in there to stop wear on the main pivoting points. Plastic-Metal contact is going to wear esp. with no grease, maybe not right away but over time those swing arms will wear. You would think those ends caps would stop the shaft from spinning, putting all the rotation on the 2 swingarms. Im no engineer, but Ill stick with my overpriced, heavy, shinny, reliable EXPERTX.

It's been talked about with Jeff at AD Boivin. Here's a quote from Jeff in the 4-stroke forum:

RoadRunner,
For the wear of the bolts hole and ''bushing'' :
There is a aluminium hard point press in the suspension that is twice the width of your regular suspension.so there sould be no problem there.
It is the same for the shaft and there support, there are bigger and wider. so no problem with this section !!!
You got to trust me !!!

They've been doing this stuff for a while-- so I'm gonna put my trust in them and see what happens. Time will tell

I was going to reach for my wallet when i decided to grab the front shaft to see how mutch it would flex up and down side to side motion.Needless to say i put them both back.It might be all right in A arm 4 stroke but in a srx that is pulling the skis in the air there is no way the sled will go straight imo.

I have to believe they have tested this thing over and over again.

its a new radical thing having a composite suspension so of course people will doubt it. however, if you talk to the guys at ad boivin you will find out that this sled has been tested for a couple years now with different composites, different setups, etc. they will tell you that its been tested and it works well due to the large bearing surface and low coefficient of friction between the two surfaces
