warm up

ya thats what i do too full choke to start then put to half....let if idle for a bit then if it will run with the choke off let it ilde while you go and suit up with your gear grap a sip of coffee let it idle for 5-10 min then your good to go......take it easy for the first couple miles then go smoke some sleds....i have never fouled a plug this way....ya never touch the throttle it will foul a plug right now

are u sure if u let idle for 5-10 ill with not all dirty the exhaust and power valve ??

Run it until you get some warmth in one of the running board heat exchangers, I can't remember which one is first. Even then I don't hog on it for a couple miles/ and couple good burps to clear it. I used to let my 900 Cat warm up about the same amount, big jugs/pistons to warm up on that mill.

Me too. I just keep flipping the choke half on and off until the sled stays running by itself. Then I usually take it pretty easy for 10 minutes to make sure its warmed up fully then hit the go lever! I cold seized a sled once before by not letting it warm up before I juiced it.

I feel this is essential to get good life out out of your pistons and rings.I always put big miles on my sleds with zero problems and I think that proper warmup is a big part of the longevity, plus it is a Yamaha!
