Boy could be alot of things, ever check how plugs are burning? rich?
could be clutching too, a strong mill will be a dog if not clutched good/right

how many miles? check for wear in the rollers, clutch weights. Yammi twins are hard on primary clutches
96 600
the 600s had a carb recall where yami changed the nozzels in the carbs and rejetted them, some had restiction problems with the fuel tank vent and last but not least the carb heater valves would stick on. any of these would cause poor performance

has to be something in the carbs or clutch
I would look those over carefully

I'm with Tom on this one, pending how many miles on the sled of course.
I have worked on 3 older Yammi twins recently, all 3 times the customer asked me to clean the carbs because it was running sluggish. On all 3 sleds the rollers where shot and this last sled the flywieghts where actaully flattened in spots from the rollers hanging up and the wieghts just dragging on them.
Not sayin its definatly your prob, but certanly worth a look.

Ditto on the clutches i did mine about 2 years ago and they were full of flat spots and shot bushings, makes a huge difference and never hurts to go through them. Same thing for the carbs they should in my opinion be cleaned every year anyway.
