I like using the Yamaha 8DN belts and most people do.But I have been looking around at other belts.I blew a Ultimax3 belt last year ..so those may be out.What about the better UltimaxXS belts.They are suposed to be stronger and better constructed.Have any of you used them.And also,what about the Dayco HPX belts,have you guys used them and are there any pro's and con's to these 2 belts.Just searching for some answers on these belts.Now my clutches are aligned and the off set is good on my sleds now,so there shouldn't be any excuse if these belts blow except that they are crap.

i have always run an 8dn on my srx....tried a dayco hpx cause they were on sale for half price.....didnt really like it...sled was low on top end about 200-300 rpms...i have heard the daycos gates etc are softer which are easier on the clutches but other then that run a yammy it will preform better

I had the same problems with the dayco's and gates.
They lowered my RPM about 200-300. Pretty much have to retune your sled to run a softer belt.
Stick with the Yammi 8DN belt

Belts =oem=best!!!!
I think I will stick with the 8DN.Only thing is my Yamaha Dealer wants so much for them.Gonna have to see where I can pick them up at a better price.I'll have to check with Rich and see if he will give me a deal if I purchase 6 at a time,but they must be the OEM ones,not aftermarket.

There is another option. You can run an OEM 8CH belt. It is a softer compound, and will wear a bit quicker, but it grabs better for racing. I always run this belt.

If your motor is properly aligned, you won't have belt issues with either an 8DN or an 8CH. Stick with OEM. It's simple.....if you're trail riding, run an 8DN. If you're racing, run an 8CH.
