what is the best money spent? The original shock on the 04 viper S cannot be rebuilt or revalved. Is it better to buy a new valve from pioneer for $250 or try to pick up a used 02/03 shock and have it revalved for the viper s?

How many miles are on your sled? My suggestion would be to make sure you are getting the most out of your suspension as it is firtst - are all the bushings good, and do you have the suspensions adjusted properlu for your weight as far as "sag" or "set in" goes? I've ridden the stock Viper S skid for over 4,000 miles and they are pretty good compared to what you'll be spending money on 85-90% of the time you ride. Do you ride a lot of really rough trails?

The bushings are wore out and I have them ordered and will replace them this week. I ride the western UP and when the trails het wooped out I start to bottom out. I have the rear shock set at one notch from the stiffest position and the center at #2 next to the softest. I thought the suspension was worse at the end of the season last year making me think the shock was fading.

there are some ohlins for the pro action on the 4 stroke side, or a set of elkas on ebay. both would be better.
