I am repairing my 98 SRX. I went with a friend to pick up his SXViper about 50 km away from town. We were travelling at about 80 km the whole way in the dark. The light started blinking so i turned it off and looked at my anti-freeze and it was empty. Watta bummer, I hit a big rock and the front heat exchanger had a big whole. Also my LH trailing arm bent before that. I am waiting for my parts now, I took everything off in order to get at the Front Heat Exchanger. The only thing left on in is the oil and gas tank, so I'm cleaning everything under the motor. I checked my PV's the other day and one of the cables were pulled. Another bummer, i had to force it out but there was no damage in the cylinder block. The valve had some scratches so i ordered a new one. just to make it even i ordered all three, costs over $350. Damn, but worth it i geuss. Atleast i will have two spare vavles. After seeing the valves I decided to check my rings in case the rings seized because all my coolant drained. There still very good, top of the pistons are nice and brown, not black. When I put the blocks back on I put in new gaskets and and new o-rings for the heads. Do I have to break it in now? Well anyways sorry the post is long. Thanks to this website i will be able to adjust my valves properly. Thx

next time order from the usa if you didnt do that, much much cheaper than what the stealership charges in canada
Yea, I ordered it from Canada. Yellowknife to be exact, Force One. So do you know if I have to break it in with the new gaskets i put in. Thx for the advise, appreciate it.

Should be no need for break in if you didn't change the rings.
Ok, yea i didn't change the rings. After I put it all together I'm thinking of doing some clutch work. I don't know much about it but I got my Olav AAEN's Clutch Tuning handbook today, I'm going to read it a few times and browse this site about it too. Also got my Sled Pro with the handbook, so my SRX should run like new after i'm done with it. Thanks again
