Venom Owners?

hey guys my buddy has a venom , and he doesn't have front/ rear cooler protectors on the sled, or tunnel protectors. now another dealer which he went too found out that maybe the delaer where he bought it didn't put on the protectors when they assembled the sled. any ideas if this could be true? the dealer said yamaha would come good for it if they weren;t on the sled. just will save me alot of screwin around on his sled, i still have to paint my hood and get my sled all ready for snow! thanks

Does he have studs? I thought those were an aftermarket add on when you studded your track?

WE JUST STARTIN TO DRILL FOR STUDS , WE HAVE THE PARTS BUT WHEN WE WENT TO PICK UP THE PARTS THEY MENTIONED TO THE MECHANIC THAT WE NEEDED THEM TO PUT STUDS ON AND HE THINKS THEY WERE PART OF THE SLED ,( WASN'T TO SURE THOUGH) WAINT FOR YAMAHAS REPLY SONN, JSUT WONDERING WHAT PEOPLES THOUGHT WERE. I KNOW THE VIPER DIDN;T HAVE ANY ONE AND THE SRX I HAD DIDN'T. NOW I KNOW MY ATTAK HAS THEM ON, JUST THOUGHT IT WOULD BE THE SAME FOR THE VENOM ITS AN 05 VENOM! ????
 
I seem to remember A dealer telling me that they are the same sled as the viper of past years (chassis) that is and that 03 had a shorter track hight, customers complained about no grip & they put on the new ripsaw that was hitting the sled industry by storm...the 04 viper s did not have them (protectors) either as well as the venoms that way they did not have a clearance issue...Some guys added the ripsaw to there current viper, but had clearance issues...so the did one of two things, let the track wear in or trimmed the track the point of contact with the guards or removed the protectors altogether...the later, I would personally not want to stud if I had no protectors in place.
 
I am currently doing this to my wifes 2006 Venom. No, they did not come from the factory with any protectors, tunnel or heat exchanger. I guess they thought they could save money by not putting them on. Yamaha also discontinued the front heat exchanger protectors, and I believe the rear too. I happened to luck out and find a pair. Port Yamaha could not order them anymore. Hope this helps....Mike :letitsnow

yup my buddy talked the the dealer and he has the front ones in stock and tunnel protectors strips and i am gonna make some rear protectors to fit as needed, jsut have to head to the shop and figure something out for the rears.
