When cleaning my power valves today I noticed that the shop manual shows a raised ridge on the power valve housing that is supposed to face up but there is no raised ridge on the housing on my 98' SRX. Top and bottom look the same. Is there way to tell which way the housing should go on the 98' SRX or does it matter with this year?

one side should have a raised edge thats the top and the bottom should have a hole, this is the way it should go on... not sure if the years are different.. i didnt think they were???

Thanks guys!! On mine there is no hole and no raised edge, looking at my friends 2000' SRX, his has a raised ridge on top and a small hole on the bottom but mine has neither. Both the top and the bottom on my 98' look the same [just like the bottom of the 2000' only without the hole] I'm just taking off for work so won't be able to get any pics till the weekend.
Thanks again guys, hope this makes sense.

I tried posting pics but couldn't figure it out. I checked my buddies power valves earlier today and and clearly had the bump at the top, the hole at the bottom was very visible, can't miss it. Yes the 98 models do not have the release port hole, I geuss they made the improvments with the later models.

Yep i don't think '98's had it boy's..not sure if you could swap 'em out
from later years..check it out..

Thanks for all your thoughts guys! I'm just going to pop them in the same way they came out as I just can't seem to detect any discernible difference in which way it goes on.
That's a great idea damon thanks! I'm going to do some research and if they'll work in the 98' I'll try and pick up a set on ebay!
