Primary Clutch fitment

Will any primary from any 2 stroke, 97 and newer, fit any model with the correct, weights, rollers, and spring? Have a 600 twin that needs a primary and what to make sure I can pick up any 97 and newer primary. I understand that I need the short cover for the 97.
