I would remove the cable and lube it and I really think your problem could be on the carb rack itself, pull the carbs and clean all the moving linkage for the slides, good time to sync the carbs too. I always used a 1/8 inch drill bit as a feeler gage but not sure if the srx is the same.

I keep my cables lubricated with a gun oil called G96. Disconnect the throttle lever end, hold it straight up and give it a good drink of spray. Can't really answer your question about what is causing it without being there. If it was me, and the throttle started sticking, I would open the hood and wick the throttle by moving the little bell crank the cable runs in. You should be able to decide what is doing it, cable or carbs. Hope this helps you. Good luck.

have you tried disconnecting the cable from the carb rack and then seeing if it still sticks??? That would at least eliminate the cable problem for you and then you could move onto the carb rack if that doesnt work. Might eliminate some headaches of trying the track the problem down. Just my 0.2 cents

dooslayer has a good idea for you to see it its cable or carb rack. I still think the carb rack needs attention, your motor heat and carb heat if you have the carb heatersw turned on is enough heat to keep the traped moisture unfrozen, then when you get powder comming in its enough to re freze the trapped moisture.................. is your throttle sticky in the morning when the whole sled is cold?
I would lube the cables and clean and lube the carb rack. Make sure your TORS is hooked up and working.
