how are you guys cleaning the cylinder side of the PV with the cylinder still on the sled? if the cylinder was off, it would be a piece of cake. any stuff you spray and scrap could fall in the jug?!

Not sure if im understanding what your saying. Are you trying to clean the valves when there still in the cylinder?
Take the whole valve out of the cylinder

power valves
I use a Shop vac when I clean the bore for the power valve.

Q-tips
Q-tips dipped in carb cleaner & work at it slowly while the vac is on, isn't always that crusty in the port...just a few passes with a Q-tip, is all that I ever do...comes out real clean...cheers
I know some say the the fuzz will rub off & stay behind...I tried a J-cloth wrapped around a pencil eraser end...

Carb cleaner, it evaporates fairly quickly also if it goes into the engine.

What worked good for me was using a pencil wrapped with a cloth soaked
in card cleaner(or what ever you use), the pencil forms to the inside of the
pv housing perfectly.
have the piston at the bottom of the cyl. so you can stick the pencil
all the way in the cyl. and only pull back on it so your not introducing
debris into the cyl.
cleaned 'em up good..
