hey, in my 1996 Vmax 600XT, how do i change the chain case oil? Also how much oil do i put in? Is there a way to check the level? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THanks,

Should be a plug inside the tunnel by the front of the track. The case should have a dip stick to indicate the full level, and you fill it through this hole. They don't take much oil, maybe a quarter of a quart.

Or you can take the cover off to change the oil.
I like to do it this way, so you can see the condition of the chain and gears.

Me too. Definately easier to find a problem now rather then on a five day vacation 5 hours from home with dealers that don't carry any parts. I'm not bitter though....lol
