Lucas Oil in crankcase

I have a buddy who races in the 440 class who was visiting the other day and he was telling me that he puts Lucas Oil in the crankcase (about 1/2 a bottle) of his 440 fan cooled green sled and his 700 triple viper to keep from spinning bearings. Has anyone heard of this? It does make sense, I must just be ignorant to a few tricks. Anyways I want to hear your answers.

2-stroke's don't have wet sump's,they get there lube from the
oil in the gas, you can't do that...
