Hey, we just took of the strut cover tube on the 800 last night in order to replace it. I took the spring off and pushed on the shock rod. It went to the bottom without effort so I think its safe to say there is no more nitrogen in there.
Does anybody know about refilling these, rebuilding them if possible?
I had also heard years ago that there was Ohlins strut shocks avalable for them as well, anybody have info on such a beast? Any info is appreciated. Thanks. G.

The 1983-1991 Vmax540 had a needle hole on bottom of the strut that after taking the aluminum ski holder off a Yamaha dealer could recharge or set the nitrogen pressure. I'm thinking the SRV had the same setup. I never had a Vmax4
