SRX and egt's

I just got my new digatron for my srx and I need to know how far out from the piston skirt I need to drill my holes? I thought it was 7in but I just wanted to make sure.

i do believe it also depends on the pipes. i'm not 100% sure, but I believe the company who makes the pipes would have that info. i'm just mentioning that because in your picture it looks like you have the bender big bore pipes.

I am running stock srx pipes. That is an old pic.

2 1/2 to 3 inches from the skirts

Will that even clear the exhaust manifolds?

I believe the measurement I used was 8 inches. It has been over 5 years since I installed them. I have the pipes off right now so I will measure where the EGT probes are set at. I will get back to you tommorrow with the exact measurement. Also why did you go back to stock pipes if you don't mind me asking.

we usually put them 5" from the face of the piston on our race sleds.

Someone had the EGT's installed on my SRX prior to me owning it,but has been removed.My pipes are drilled and capped off since they are not installed...I could measure the distance later and post the distance.

I measured it today and on my Big Bore pipes they are set at 8 inches from my piston skirts.

6 to 7 inches from the exaust side of the piston.

Mine were at 5 to 5.5 inches from the exhaust manifold plates.
