Try to look and see if the fuel emblem is lit up, or any other emblem. When the red triangle cation light comes on, it will usually light up an emblem by the fuel gauge bars to let you know why it is on. From the bottom of the fuel gauge bars, just to the left of them from bottom to top it goes: fuel, oil, water temp., and motor. If the motor emblem is flashing, try to note the pattern that it is flashing. Either a dealer or someone on here should be able to help you with the code, if that is the problem.

My sled doesn't turn on the warning & fuel emblem until it is down to one bar or less. It doesn't come on when there are two fuel bars showing.

do u have visor defrost cable wired in?....if so, check the wiring on this cable.....

A bad ground connection on this wire caused my caution light to come on before...this wire is probably ground on one of your handlebar mount bolts....

just something simple to check before you move on to other things.
