should i have to compress the front shock about an inch or so to get the limiter straps installed. the straps i got are about an inch longer than the stock srx straps, but i found it strange that i had to compress the front arm to get the strap adjusters to go through the hole. i can not remember if i had to do this with the stock shocks and straps.

???

That's kinda strange. With my long travelled skid,I didn't have a problem.Maybe the loop on the w-arm is welded up higher.I noticed that the SXR w-arm and the SRX w-arm,the loops are in a different position.I re-inforced the SXR w-arm and keep the brand new SRX
w-arm as a back up,only I may need longer straps, but could also relocate holes on the other strap. So are your straps really tight after being installed. My front shock is at "0" pre-load,so the shock will work for me .If the shock is compressed to much,it won't work as good when you drop down into something.

yes the straps are very tight. i have them set now with no threads showing on the adjuster. i had to compress the W arm down about an inch before i had enough threads to put the nut on the adjuster!!its seems to me that i just voided out the extra 1" that i gained with long trav front shock. something is not right, and i dont want to install the skid like this . help!!! can i get longer straps anywhere?

Something doesn't see just right.Did you change the whole skid or just the shocks. And if shocks..they may be longer...I don't know.As long as you got things hooked up right in there. Can't see you installing things wrong ..but it seems a little strange. When I installed my long travelled skid, everything is part and parcel..it all works.See if something is not installed right firstly.Got some pics maybe to show us.

By the way, great place St.John's.Loved the harbour and the ships when I was there years back.Maybe you can look up an old flame of mine..lol.
