Thinking about buying a GPS unit.Prices are dropping and sales are on now.Don't want to buy a low end one and don't want to pay an arm and a leg also.If you have one,let me know what kind it is and prices and what things to look for in purchasing one.The GPS works thru a satellite, but do I have to pay like a monthly fee to operate one or does it already come with the purchase of one.Not really sure about this part.:dunno: :o| LET me through you damn WALL>#$%&*

get a color unit with led backlighting. lcd b & w units dont work well in the cold.

Ok,but do you have some brand names to go with and model numbers. So I buy one, turn it on and go...there are no service fees or
activation charges.How does that work?

It coordinates with free satellites that were originally launched for military purposes. No fees. The more satellites it can coordinate with, the more accurate, basically.

Do you have a Cabella's by you? (store) They had a Garmin 530c that was originally $499 on sale for $199 last Friday. People were buying them as fast as they could get them on the shelf. I was very tempted, but I can actually read a map.

I don't know much about them, but I would look for one that is portable, has a nice size display, and has expandable memory card slots.

That Garmin 530c looked pretty nice.

Doug,

I picked up a "Garmin eTrex Legend" last season and it has been great!!

Turn it on, let it sync up and stick it in your pocket. It'll track your entire day and tell you EXACTLY how fast your SRX is!!!

Getting the Viper ready to go. Still have to clean the carbs. But I did take the Triple piped SXR around the yard already . It really rocks!!!

And you were complaining about the weather a couple of days ago!!!

Cheers,
