Ok just rebuilt my viper, and started it up to do heat cycles and the check engine light flashes.
I have a 2001 srx cdi, could it be the temp senser. I wired to a .300ohm res to the frame ( round tubinge) behind the airbox. maybe I broke the resister.

How long are the durations between the light coming on??? Check out the tech sections on the srx warning lights it should be able to tell you what is going on......someone correct me if I am wrong!!!!!!!!!Good luck

so it looks to be 3 short flashes then close to 2 sec long no flas
the manual sez for viper it would ethier be TPS or thump warmer ( crazzy a thumb warmer will actually set this off)
for srx it looks like TPS as its the only one with 3 flashes
so what should i be looking at with a viper gauge and srx cdi

all your warnings will be from a srx box. the guage has no diagnostics in it. the guage only has a warning light that is triggered on or off by other inputs. any warning flashes are initiated at the cdi box warning light output.
is the tps harness pluged in beside the carbs??

ya tps is plugged in everything seems fine. But my seat is off and brake light is disconected can this casue a check engine light.
C.C. take a look at you heat sensor lead wire plug a few of my buds had them break right at the plastic end and it sometimes did it intermittently or stayed on without haveing the sled hot yet...
also just going to put this out there...do you have enough oil in the tank to not have set off the low oil code...just a thought...

see im confuesed sense i have a viper gauge will my oil light come on like before and will my temp light come on or is it just and engine light. for everything now. If so
that might be the case there is only 1 quart of oil in my tank

I think its the low oil coming on, & yes I understand about the swap...I do not have any clue in that area...yet...how did it run for you with that set up...

ok every thing is awesome it turned off by itsefl once the sled warmed up fully. Anyways took her for her first rip and i cant stop smilling. got to go ride some more

when this mod is done, your guage will work as normal. all oil, gas temp, engine warnnings will work as designed. the only thing that will work as an srx is any warning outputs from the cdi to the warning lamp.
glad to see your finally riding this thing. pull up to the local dealer and ask him if he ever got in one of these pre production srx/vipers? i had so much fun with that sled.
