thinking of useing two single pipes off an srv to make a twin pipe set up. the tune dimentions should be the same only instead of handleing an exhaust pulse every 180 degrees the twin pipes only have to work every 360 degrees each. the headpipes may have to be adjusted to comphensate for the lack of a y-pipe. is my theory sound or is there something that im overlooking.

I think it will fall on it's face. you'll end up with pipes big enough for an 800 twin. It would be like putting megaphones on, and there just noisy. Break it down somemore to get closer. My example is my gp433. I used a single pipe from a set of ZRT600 triples. I broke it down to the bore, stroke, carbs & rpm band. It works pretty good, the only problem I'm plagued with is the plastic fan blows apart and about 8300rpm. It hurts when it hits your arm!!! I take it out when we get enough snow I can just boondock across the fields mostly 3/4 to Full throttle. Something to think on, have fun and make some noise!!!

Unless you're racing and tuning to the max, twins pipes are more difficult to tune, a single pipe works best for trail. Aaen can help you out with a "better" single pipe and is even willing to sell pipes in pieces so that they can be custom fit to a specific application if he doesn't already make one for your sled. If you contact E& S motorcycles in Ft. Saskatchewan, they can give you the name of a fellow in Edmonton that welds pipes together and does an awesome job. Aaens pipes on most of the two stroke fans like Phazer and stuff are good for a woppping 14 hp increase over stock and if you heat wrap them you're good for more yet! I believe that what you're planning will not work out very well at all. Good luck. G.
