Guys, Just started my Viper ER and the gage pod is cutting in and out? I remember hearing someone having the same issue? Sled runs fine, plenty of power up and down RPMs. Thanks, Blue

how about the battery? is it charged? with a bad battery in a ER it will do this

No, Battery is down, Wow that would be great if thats all it is! I put my tender on last night will check it in a couple days, Thanks MrViper

I had the same problem with my non-er '02 Viper, it ended up being a wire that had rubbed trough the insulation under the motor. Seems like it was shorting to ground and taking out the gage pod. I sealed the wire back up (with heat shrink and loom for added protection), and the problem went away

Hey Blue - I bought a 2002 Viper ER last March that was stored for 3 years. Only had 624 miles. Battery was shot, but pull started and ran fine. I was anxious to ride so I rode it with the bad battery the first weekend. The gauges worked on and off, and though I had a bad pod. I posted here, was told the battery needs to be good and charged. Long story short, I replaced the battery and the problem went away.

All, I had the battery on trickle charge for a few days and symtoms got better but gage would only work above 5,000 RPM. Went and put a new battery in Saturday morning put that one on charge and replaced Sunday morning. Now all is well and the E start now works too! Put about 50 miles on the sled, Just local trails in the Bangor area. Sled rode and performed good. Looking forward to getting on some better trails this weekend. Thanks to all!
Blue
