Well I waited till the last minute, but we are "supposed to" get around 7-10 inches of snow Saturday and Saturday night and my viper isn’t ready. Tonight I’m going to TRY and tackle my extended cables install. I got the braided stainless steel cables from Gravity Worx looks nice but it took over 4 weeks to get them after ordering them. I’m not very mechanical so I was hoping some people can give me some pointers, tips and things to watch out for. I searched around and couldn’t find any info on actually putting them on the sled. Thanks guys appreciate it!

Did you get throttle and oil cable extensions or longer cables from a mountain viper/mountain max? The extended cables don't seem to work as well on yamahas and take some rigging to get them to work with our style cables. It can be done, but if you haven't ordered them yet, just get the longer cables from a 2003 mountain viper.

They are gravity worx LONGER cables, they are NOT extentions. just to clear that up.

I just got a pair of the same cables from Gravity Worx. The throttle cable is the easiest, it just runs to the top of the carbs. The oil line is kind of a pain, hopefully you have some small fingers and some patience. You will have to remove the carbs to install the oil line. While the carbs are off install the brake line, it is simple. Bleed the brakes, put carbs back on and you are good to go.

I just installed all 3 Yamaha cables (throttle, parking brake, and oil pump) as well as the brake line from the Mountain Viper on my 02 Viper last night. All were exactly 2" longer than the stock Viper cables. IMO this is the way to go as everything bolted right on. Total cost for all four was $88 shipped to my door. The are all the perfect length with a 3.5" Rox pivot riser. All I have left is to extend the wiring and move all of the block-connectors under the hood.

The oil pump cable was the most difficult. Take off the airbox, and pull back your carbs. Also, I found it helpful to remove the motor mount as well to get more access to the oil pump cable. Obviously this is a good time to do the brake line as well. Throttle cable was easy, as was the parking brake.

Any hints on the forum for adjustment of the oil pump and throttle cables?
