Got a chance to hit the ditches along the Highway out here with the SXR and the SRX.But firstly could not fire up the 600.30 pulls later and I was out of breath.Got some gas, removed plugs and poured some in each cylinder, replaced plugs and pulled not even 1/4 pull and it fired up finally. The SXR ran pretty good.Trying to stay on the part where the wind drifted more snow, noticed at WOT my RPM's are about 8700.Got the SRX weights in the clutch, can't remember the rivet combo right now,51/43 helix at 80.The snow is to loose really for any kind of testing.
On the SRX she jumps like hell, but spins right out to the grass, trying to stay on top of fresh snow, got to 85 mph and noticed RPM's at at about 8700-8800 maybe at WOT.I have the HC's in the clutch and 50/38 helix at 80 wrap. Can't really pin it hard from a standstill, just hitting frozen ground and that doesn't sound good to me.Again conditions don't allow for any kind of proper testing, when I pin it the track just rips, not really good traction conditions. She revs to about 8500 and at WOT for a bit the rpm's are drifting over the 8500 mark. Will have to add some more washers to the tip I guess.I was going up and down giving her all the way and she is over-revving a little. One good thing so far,the clutches are nice and cool, with a tad of warmness.THAT IS GREAT.
I have one problem to solve on the SRX.It is the when I stop to idle, the rpm stays up to much and may take a while to drop to idle.It is not instant. On the SXR it drops as soon as I let go of throttle.I loosened the cable a little more, but still not quite there.I have to keep playing with the idle adj. screw to get it down.Took out the BR9ECS-5 that were in there and the color is good.Put in the Iridium BREIX plugs in.GOOD NEWS ALSO.
NO DENOTATION AT ALL TODAY.NO DCS LIGHT COMING ON AT ALL.It was close to -20 celsius today and I was pinning it good. That again MAKES me very happy. One less problem. My suspension is holding up so far and the new track.Took one hard jump on a mound of grass that was sticking out of the snow.Front end went up pretty good and came down square to the ground.Saw it last second, thought it was a mound of frozen dirt, braced myself, but hit it equality with both ski's and flew up I'll tell ya.No damage at 70 mph landing.First obstacle of the riding season. There are some other bigger mounds to watch out for,it is from when the municipality cuts the ditches with the big mowers, sometime they leave a large pile of grass that will bunch up and drop suddenly.I knew they were out there, had to keep my eyes open.

Add weight to the heel; it also brings down top end rpm,s as well as low end rpm,s. You probably need to turn your fuel screws out 1/4 turn to richen up the low end & get rid of that idle hang up. You can blip the choke slightly to also bring down the hi idle.

The high idle is because of your fuel screws. You'll need to turn them out 1/4 - 1/2 more and that problem will go away. If you hit the choke for a sec it will also go down.

Alrighty then, shall do that with the heel and the fuel screws. Thanks Turk and the secondly late snowdust...LOL.I know stock fuel screws are 1 1/8 turn out,I have them at 1 1/4 now.Why does this even happen with the idle, could you please explain.MEANS I have to take my carbs out again!!!! TURK..I already used up all the little washers on the heel that came with the kits, bought some little SS washers from Can Tire and put a couple on each bolt to,but they are a little thinner. What kind of washers can I use then, bigger ones may work, but the hole in center can't be to big for the bolt..it has to be the same diameter at least. It is really starting to get stacked up on them heel bolts.Maybe I can find a threaded nut that can be threaded on firstly..then washers after that...just wandering if this is a good idea.

Forgot to mention,my engagement rpm is around 4400 ish ,putting more weight on the heel would help here and top rpm's.I know...I know...it is all about tuning and testing.I'll get there...lol

Changing your rollers from 15.6 to 15mm,s would help a lot. It would lower engagement & pull a lot harder down low.

Are you telling me this so I have to go and spend more money LOL.So you are telling me the 15mm rollers would help then...hmmmm.Got to think on this one, won't purchase new ones, will look for used ones first. But I will try to get more weight on the heel first I guess.

I got rollers plus if your still looking for a gps i have a garmin 76cs colour screen used once. I have all the topo maps i can load up on it for ur area. $300 delivered to winnipeg. also comes with cigarette power adapter & custom case. just pm me at honest uncle Turks new & used!!!

Yeah looks that way uncle Turk..lol.I'll buy everything you have for sale.Lets just start with them rollers first, that I can handle.

You better get back to work blu, buying all this stuff for your sled your wife's going to throw you AND your SRX out!!!!!! lol

MY WIFE never gets mad at me.She does say at times, why you talking about the sleds,I don't care.Asked me what I was doing today..told her bringing SRX in the garage and working on it.It all is ok,she works nights and sleeps days,we don't see each other much in between.I need them sleds to have something to do...lol

I have to watch that I don't pin it past the bedroom window or else I will wake her up.We see each other for supper if that helps...lol.And every Sunday night we hit the magic room..you know daman..you've been in that room before.....   :hide:

I am going outside now,so don't bug me anymore.....lol

Well I ran the 2 sleds again today.Definitely the SXR is over-revving to about 9000 rpm,got to look into that. The SRX is over-revving to about 8800 rpm.Got both clutches off and in the house right now. Will look at them and do some work on them.Going to put 15mm rollers on the SRX and will determine what I have in the SXR clutch to bring the rpm back to 8500.
My bud came over today with his new Renegade 800.Took it for a little spin around the yard.He is still breaking it in,so couldn't pin it.It definitely is lighter when you pu the rear end.Lighter then his MXZ 700 that his wife was riding.Everything looks a little flimsy on it,the panel that cover the sides of the engine is really cheap plastic. It is a little of a pain he said to change your belt on it to.I even noticed the running boards are punched out full of holes for weight savings.Ski's turn good at least, with dual runners I noticed. To get to the plugs you have to dismantle stuff to get to them.I am so used to just having to open the hood on my sleds and everything is exposed. But that is the new wave, imagine it is like that on the Nytro and Apex to.

Will the 15 mm rollers help bring down rpm from top end?

The reason that the dcs is not coming on, is ironically because you are overrevving. I had my sled go for like 1,2km with the rpms at 8750 without the dcs going off, at 75% or something throttle. You aren't loading the top end at all, that's where it comes on.

Change inner rivet in the 600 sx from a .8 to a 4.5 & you will be 8500 rpm solid. $6 clutch kit!!!
