M10 Question

I'm guessing the rear wheels are hitting. I re-located mine forward a little. (Drilled a new hole) I'll look for a pic to show you. I am not running the jack, so I didn't want to lose that support.

Edit: Here is a pic.

BTV - I was wondering if having the jack in there would be enough. Thanks!

snowdust - the stock ones don't hit, but I'd like to run 7 1/8 rear wheels. How big of wheels are you running? Because I was thinking of moving it like you did. How far di you move it?

thanks!

I don't know what the exact measurement is where I moved it off hand. I just made sure there was plenty of material to drill the new hole. I am running 8in rears. I can't seem to remember the offset axel brand right now. I got it from Rich on this site. I have had aheck of a time getting enough track adjustment, but I can't blame it all on the axel and wheels. Some of the mounting points were not quite right originally.

If that's the same offset axle kit I got from him in Aug of 06 I think it's suppose to run 6-3/8 wheels in the inside and 8" wheels on the outside. That may be why your track is too tight?

This is the onse I had:

Thanks for the pics - and the input too!

when i ran the 8in kit on my viper, i had to machine the blocks on the hpe axle kit so it would let the wheels go ahead about 1/4 so i could get the track loose enough. it worked good but i had to mount that shaft on the lower front bolt instead of the upper.
i also cut the bottom of the slide block 10mm shorter. loosens the sled up front to back. .

Well that's refreshing. I have that same offset axle and also had to modify it to allow for enough track adj. I was not real happy that I had to do this after what I paid for that axle.

BETHEVIPER - What "Slide Block" are you referring to?

XSIVHP - I do have the 8in outside and 6 3/8 inside. Without making some changes to that aftermarket axle it is fiddle tight. I have a long thread documenting my frustration if you do a search.

I noticed that even with the stock M10 setup there is only about .125" clearance - so I can see where you may be having troubles. That sucks. I'll keep you posted; I'm ordering parts today.

update - I just talked to fast and they, like BTV, stated that with the Jack you do not need the cross support. woo hoo!!

roger that - I think I'm just going to run std. size wheels - these hang below the slide about 1/2" - seem like too much to you?

I would say so...that would put to much pressure on the front of the slides & wear them out sooner, you would think...would you have team fast number...or can you give me the front shock preload settings...thnks
