I just completed installtion of longer cables for bar riser on a 02 Viper ER. Any tips out there for adjustment of oil pump and throttle cables? Any help would be appreciated !!!!

I used a little gray matter and searched the forum and got the info - my tank is full of Yamalube, so I set the oil pump freepaly to 22mm, and will switch to sythethic (probably Amsoil) when the tank runs out.
Thx

Did you set throttle end play first?
1-set T/E/P
2-set oil pump
3-set idle
yes Amsoil is good or Klotz, how many miles on the 'ol Vipe?

Daman - Thanks for the response. I will follow your recommended order.
The sled only has 634 miles. I found the proverbial needle in the haystack. Machine was bought new in summer '02 as a pair (father bought the Viper ER & his son a left over '01 SXr 700.) The father got cancer in summer 03 and died in '04. The son never rode again. I bought both machines last March. I sold the SXr and kept the Viper.
I am improving the ergos with bar riser, seat riser, low windshield, etc. The machine had Simmons twin-carbide ski's, a rear heat exchanger, shock/spring fix etc, so it was pretty well set. Next will be a M10, and I might even stretch to 134". Some of my friends like to boondock in the powder, and they ride REV's. I have been Yamaha-only since my first 1980 SRX440.

MDB, I heard that the guy you bought your Viper from actually paid you to take both sleds. Talk about a good deal!

GB - You talking to Terry again !! I've been watching your post on your cooling system. I wish I could help you, but I'm new to Yamaha triples so I'm not sure I'd be any help. I'm reading every post for the last couple months so I can bone up and learn from the school of hard knocks !!
Sound like the experts are on your case though. However, I am pretty mechanical, (built race cars, and worked on my own boats, motorcyles, etc.) so if you want a second opinion I'd be willing to stop over. You're only about 30 minutes away....have you tried taking the thermostat out, and running with out it? At least then you know the water will flow......
