Im going to be running a 1" hacksaw on my 2000 SRX, and i wanted to know if i can run 1.175" studs Safely, with stock drivers?

If not ill go 1.080, but the 1.175 would really help with extra penetration.

Ran that setup for four years and didn't have any problems. However, I riveted a 1/4" thick sheet of polypropylene plastic up under the tunnel to make sure that any studs that might come into contact with the tunnel hit the plastic instead of the aluminum. It does have some stud marks in it but nothing that would probably have damaged the tunnel. I also ran the front protectors as well.

Mills

Mills im thinking about riveting some plastic to the actual heat exchanger protectors themselves, just to help reduce any friction between that and the track, i heard i have to trim the track slightly to miss the exchangers

Im thinking 1.175" Woody's Signature series stainless studs, in the hacksaw predrilled pattern snowdust.... whatcha think?

haha that threw me off now, bruce says 1.080s and rich says 1.175s....

Wondering if my best bet then would be dropped down to 1.080s and go up to 192 studs ( like i have now)

Believe me...if you have 192 of the 1.08 Roetin Hornets and transfer rods, that thing will hook up LIKE CRAZY. My 2001 SRX would rip your arms off.

well i was running 192 1" studs with bender TC3's on my stock track and it hooked up good....

however with the new track and studs ill be running a 2005 Edge skid.... :) soo hopefully hooks up as welll

TTT anyone else opinion on 192 1.08s vs. 144 1.175s?

Last year I purchased a 1" hacksaw from Rich, with the 1.08 hornets. The snow conditions weren't the greatest but after 1400 miles the studs are still in great shape.
you wont be dissappointed. That hacksaw made my viper a completely different sled.
best upgrade I've made on a sled.
