Anyone have a better idea than hose clamps for the bands that keep the aluminum covers on the SRX pipes? I have a couple loose ones and would like to put on something that looks better than hose clamps.

I thought about it but have never tryed it..........I have the same issue, I would like to solve.

you can buy axle bands from your local auto parts store same thing as yamaha uses.

But im cheap and lazy so I woudl lock wire them.

I have the same issue. I am going to try and shim them in an area that isn't seen but where the band contacts the shield. I figured I'd try some sheet aluminum cut into strips. Place them under the band and wrap it around the outside of the band to hold it in place. Not sure if it would tighten it up much or if it will walk around with vibration....

Yamaha sells updated bands because the factory ones all came loose. The newer styles ones work pretty good.

Just got an email back from Port Yamaha saying that they don't sell just the bands and had no idea about the updated ones.

Valin, can you get more info on these bands?

I need to come up with something, has anyone else found anything that works good and doesn't look like crap?

I was at Harbor Freight yesterday and found some on accident. They are stainless steel bands. I haven't tried them yet, but I picked them up. Here is a link:Bands

Snowdust, Good find. I have a harbor freight not too far away. I will be stopping there this weekend. thanks.

I tried the harbor freight bands - they are smaller than stock. Also, I couldn't get them tight enough. All they are is a stainless cable tie that an electrical supply store will carry. I got tired of messin with them and put SS hose clamps on. The screws hide pretty well under the pipes
