Hey all
Is there any way at all to get my venture 485 fan to run without a battery??
Without the battery fully charged, it will not send any kind of powerful spark to the plugs and wont run at all, not even a sputter.
This is stupid, there must be a way to get it to run without the battery, like what is the pull cord even good for?!
Thanks!

Thats weird.
Our 94 indy 500 efi wont run with out a battery, but that is expected.
I am sure there is some work around for this since the elctric start is basically an add on to a normal non electric start yamaha..

Absolutely, but you need the capacitor. The yamaha capacitor should have a plug on it that connects to the wiring harness.
I got it from Al's used snowmobile parts.
Better yet, call Kevin at port yamaha, I doubt a new one could be all that much.
I got one in the garage up at the cabin I am not using, too bad it is 350 miles away.
