hey i have a 98 srx 700 tri, it has shaved heads and some stinger pipes and air box is cleaned out... what would be a good starting point for the primary i have shims that where machined for 100 200 300 rpm added but i was woundering about diff rivets or what not..... the wates and rivets are stock the secondary is stock helix but im thinking off changing it to a 48\40... i only ride in the mountains..... any feed back :2strokes: could be great

I would:

put the air box back to stock
8DN-20s
4.5's in each hole
WWW primary
Red sec. spring
51/43 helix

this is what i ran in my SRX and worked very well

Thank the boys on this site for this setup

Not nearly enuff info
hp of motor?
elevation?
gearing?

i'll find out the gearing but the motor is about 145 and elevation is 8000-10500 maybe 11500 i know that the gears r stock if that helps and the track is a 144

Your gonna have to gear way down to work at that elevation for starters.I can only take an educated guess. The stock 8dn-00 weights are horrible for mountain riding. Get some 8dn-20,s from a 00-02 srx. they work better & are easier to tune. Do that 1st.
