I am installing a set of cpr pipes on my 02 viper and the instructions say to adjust clutches to srx specs,i looked this up and it shows the viper and srx as being the same.If the motor has never loosened can it still be out? How often does this need to be checked? Can this be done withought the actual tool ?

the viper and srx were differnt offset specs as the srx came with a engine link and the viper did not, so they made the viper to be in line with the engine pulling and flexing the motormounts into the specs. Most people add the srx engine link and set to srx specs and its good to go.
You can set the specs without the tools depending upon how good your ability is, youd need 2 nice straight peices of aluminim or something, 1 would go aginst the backside of the secondary clutch and one would go against the back of the primary, the distance in between the edges would be your offset.
the center to center is from the center of the crankshaft to the center of the jackshaft.
