Hey guys I was just wondering if there is an easy way to check and make sure that the tps is set right?

As long as it isn't activating, you should be fine. If the throttle cable is being held open ever so slightly, then it will activate. Just make sure there is a little bit of free play in your cable at the carbs. Most troubles come from the carbs being removed and cleaned, and then when putting them back in the cable gets tightened too much. The route of the cable around the air box can also cause a problem. Really the only other thing would be if the throttle cable is starting to fray, which is the primary reason for the TORS.

If you want to unhook it for a quick test, just plug the wires into each other.

I think it has to be set at a certain Ohms reading for your TPS not sure what it is ????

the TPS is the throttle position sensor, and the TORS is the throttle overide system, they are 2 differnt things completely, the tps is what senses your throttle opening on the sled and bases to some degree a few degrees of ignition timing for better gas mpg, the throttle overide is what keeps the sled from sticking wide open throttle in case you fall off or the throttle becomes smashed ,etc.

if your tps was out youd get a blinking warning light, if the tors is wrong it wont rev the engine beyond 3000rpm and it will sound like a stutter box.

Learned something new today, didn't know they were two different things.
Thanks, MrViper!

So Don (MrViper), I'm in the process of changing from one rack of carbs to another (because of a stupid stuck pilot fuel screw) and I was wondering if I'd need to adjust the TPS as well. Is there a specific setting for zero throttle? Full Trottle?

Didn't mean to Hijack the thread, but I was reading with great interest!!!
