Do transfer rods make a big difference to the traction of the pro action sleds? My traction sucks. I have a 1" lug and 96 studs down the middle. what else can i do? The sled is a 600 twin vmax sx

Adjustable rods make a HUGE improvement!!!!! i would STRONGLY suggest getting s set, you won't be dissapointed

Skid has to be dropped to pull top idler wheel off. I just replaced mine this past weekend. Not that big of a deal.

I unfortunately replaced them with stock ones... Sounds like I will regret that decision!

Did you took the whole skid or just drop the rear. Nick
I got a set and I'm lazy to do it with 12" of snow on the ground

some older vmax's have 3 bolts per side, most have just the 1 per side. It's a SUPER easy project, takes maybe an hour or so if you have ANY mechanical ability

Nick

I dropped just the rear (four bolts on 97 and newer) Used a puller to get the wheels off. you can get by with a rubber mallet but you better be careful. remove the old rods, install the new and put everything back in reverse order. when you go to bolt your rear skid back in leave the bolts at the bottom of the transfer rods really loose, bolt up the middle skid bolts first and then the back. I hang my sled from the rafters in my garage and use an automotive floor jack under the rear skid to help re install it.

your welcome... If you run into any snags installing the tranfer rods just shoot me a PM and I can help.... I check TY religiously throughout the day so I should be able to respond quickly.lol
