I just installed TMX carbs on my 2002 srx. I got the throttle cable from Hauck and it did not come with a 4th cable so I could use my PSI TPS block. So I sent back the PSI TPS block and would like to know what to do with tps now?

just unbolt it from the carb rack and plug it in, ziptie to something and forget about it.

1.)unbolt the tps sensor from your stock carb rack, 2.)remove the sub wire harness with it, its just ziptied to the carbs, 3.)plug the tps back in subharness and plug sub harness into sled, 4.)then ziptie the tps somewhere on the sled, 5.)forget about the tps then.

its $75 for the information, what a deal 50% off.....LMAO!!!

Ok I will go and check it again. I did have it unplugged. But I thought I had it plugged on good. It flashes one and 2 times real quick.

take and move the tang on the sensor and see if the light goes out, if so, tape it to wide open.

Not trying to sound dumb. But the tang on which end. I have the tps plug plugged into the unit that came off the stock carbs. they are 3 prongs.

Ok I held the tps wide open with a pair of needle nose. It did not help. The sled sounds like crap. It has spark but if I pull the 1 & 2 plug wires it does not make much difference. If I pull the 3rd it kills it.

the tps doesnt have anyhting to do with that it actaully doesnt effect the way it runs 1 bit, you have fouled plugs or something else, the only thing it does it adjust the timing a couple degrees in mid range cruising, no effect at idle, lwo speed or wide open

Could someone please tell me what 1 flash and then 2 quick flasses means? Don, I really appreciate all your help. I am running 40 pilots and 320 mains in these tmx carbs. I wonder if I am just pigs rich on the one issue?

tps code is 2 long flashes with 1 short one following it, check all your connections, your not making contact somewhere, but this doesnt effect the sled running, we have run them off the sled before just makes the light flash, no effect on how it runs

When i did the head on my viper i accidently ran it with the tps not connected. The sled ran fine but didn't have the same throttle response. It seemed a little slugish. Probably because the timing was not advancing to where it should be when its connected. The tps did have an affect on how it responds.

it doesnt effect it, we did a dyno pull on each scenario with the sensor on and connected as stock, un hooked completely from sled and plugged in set to wide open only , they were all the same, no differance what so ever in power output.

I'm not arguing that it doesn't affect h/p numbers. However on my viper it did affect throttle response. There is no doubt about it. If there is no difference in how it runs, Why would Yamaha engineers put it there?
