My Vmax seems to foul plugs a lot more than it should, like just about every time I ride. I'm going to be putting pipes on it in the next week or two, so I don't want to have to change jets if I don't have to until then.

My question is: What about running 1 heat range warmer spark plug? Say from a br9es to a br8es? To help clean the plug, bring up combustion temps a little. Or am I just asking for trouble?

What do you experts think?

Thanks for your time.

If you keep it stock just lower your needles to lean it out a bit, I lowered mine on my 700 before I even rode it

Thanks for the input, didn't really think of that...lol

By the way, how far down did you go? And, do you have any problems with plugs fouling?

Thanks

change Caps!

I would change your spark plug boot caps. Cut off some fresh wire before you screw on the new ones. My sled had the exact same problem. Never foul another plug again :-) and try out the br93ya's after installing new caps. You will notice a world of difference.

Thanks for the advice guys, will give a try if I have more problems...
Funny thing is... cleaned the carbs, and have gone out on the trails a few times, over 300 miles, no problems yet, usually would have fouled a plug by now. So I don't know, maybe the carb clean did the trick?

Thanks guys

I second the BR9EYAs. I've been running them for several years and only have to change them when I feel like it. I usually put in a new set at the beginning of the season after burning out the fogging oil.
