Buddy has a stock 2002 srx that is looking to get some more sled lengths out of. Anyone have any suggestions as to what clutch set up will improve his sled? Sled has 1 inch energy track with 144 up the middle and transfer rods. Thanks for any input. ![Letitsnow :letitsnow :letitsnow](https://totallyamaha.net/images/smilies/letitsnow.gif)

this has to be the 600th srx clutch question but here it goes, use the stock clutch 8dn-20 weights but install 4.5 rivets in both hole, use a white/white/white yamaha spring, use a 51/43 helix with green yamaha secondary spring, around 70-80 degree wrap, you can go looser on the wrap for lake running and it will pick up more topend speed.

I just sent your suggested set up to the guy that just bought my SRX off this board. he sent me an e-mail thanking me for such a good deal and nice sled. He asked for the best set up and I had saved this as a favorite.

Oh mr viper I thought that was a secret between you and I....LMAO!!!! at work non the less!
is there a big difference from using the green over the red secondary spring??
the green spring is good for trail riding general woods, groomed trails, field riding. The red is better for more topend type riding like lake running, railroad beds, some where your gonna spend more time at 3/4-WFO, there you dont need alot of backshift.

that is too high for any trail setup I am looking for!! What I meant though Tony is what sled did it come in? I am looking for a setup to give me a little more topend without making the thing overly aggressive, I guess this isnt the setup for me.
what do you mean by too aggressive?
The w/w/w/ spring with the 8dn20's loaded with 4.5 rivets will be 4000-4200rpm engagement speed, its not a very powerfull spring, thats why it works well, its softer on the finish to upshift quicker, its only 45/119kg
If you want a lower yet engagement speed (3500-3800rpm)for a lighter rider you can also use a yellow/silver/yellow with good results, I have used it before when traction is a issue, it tends to not spin the track as much for snow drags. the y/s/y is 35/118kg
Tony: I use heel clickers in all my own stuff and anyone who brings a sled here for set up if they want it to really go, there is nothing else out there that will grab the belt like heel clickers will. Not everyone will try something off the main trail, so for those people this 8dn20,www/51/43 set up is stout and best of all cheap, its a definite improvement over stock by a long shot, very snappy and great performer all around.Wakes up a stocker big time.

what sled does the w\w\w come in and did you ever try 14.5 mm rollers with that same setup?
There is no sled that comes with w/w/w..it is an optional spring to fit a niche. I have had good luck running a steeper helix with the 8dn-20,s like a 48/40 advant-edge or a 53/43 dalton but it,s a cheap reliable set up. HC,s are da bomb tho.
well then does anyone have the part number for it? Thanks
Josh, geez next your gonna want me to install it for you....LOL!!!!
yamaha part number -90501-583L1-00
