If I ease into the throttle I can get around 35mph out of her and she runs great. If I hit the throttle hard she bogs down. I can start off and cruise at 35mph all day but I cant hit the throttle hard. If I let back off of the throttle she runs smooth. Any ideas?? Thanks.

the second half of the throttle is on the main jet, maybe your main jet is clogged, my 340 will spin the track and hit 60 no problem...

the main jet is real easy to get to just undue the four screws on the bottom of the float and it sits right in the middle. they are machine screws so they can be easy to strip the heads out, most screw drivers are for wood screws. that 300 should hit 60 too.
Dad had that sled
And I agree on the jet and 60mph (hard pack of course)

Thanks guys. Ill rip into her tonight. Last night was the first time this year we had enough snow to get her out so shes been sitting for a while. I have had her to 55mph before so I know she'll run.

carb first, then check the primary as they tend to wear out with time.

Give the jet a tap with a punch and hammer before you try to unscrew it. Just a quick, sharp tap to help break it's grip in the threads.

As soon as I pulled the fuel bowl off I could see the problem. A gob of crap right on the end of the jet barly letting any fuel past. Cleaned entire carb anyway and she runs like a champ now. Only problem now is the weather warmed up and we have rain. All the snow is almost gone.
