Just a question, Why is it that an aftermarket can hurts the power of a srx, compared to stock?? I would think the Bender and Hauck, and D&G would have researched this, but are they just for sound??

a couple of guys on here had said that aftermarket cans wont keep the heat in the pipes which creates the power loss and the rpm drop. Im not 100% on the reasoning but i think it has something to do with that.

From what Ive been told C-coating the stock SRX pipes wont hold any more heat than isulating covers that come on the sled stock. Running both the covers and C-coating Id imagine would hold more heat, but it wouldnt be worth it cause your paying all that money for a little extra perf. but youd lose that killer look when you open the hood. The only way Id C-coated a pair of pipes for a SRX is if I bought A/M triple pipes for it. That would be your only way to keep the heat in on those pipes, unless you made yourself a custom set of insulated covers for them. Good luck with that. LOL

A/M cans are mostly made for sound and weight loss(For most on YAMAHA's). I'm not saying ALL brands(A/C, Poo, Doo) lose power with A/M cans just Yami in particular. From all my hours spent on this site I dont think Ive found one thread/post that said they got an actual increase in perf. from a A/M can on a SRX, Viper, SXR. If your interested in a can, I have a MBRP SRX Race Can FS(PM if interested). Have gone back to stock is the reason for selling it, I trust YAMAHA engineer's/design way more than any A/M can maker out there.
