Help - I picked up a 2002 Viper ER last march, and I am trying to set up the suspension. I bought the manual on CD off E-bay. I am looking at manual # Lit -121618-02022. Normally I set the preloads to the middle setting to start with as I am only 170 lbs.
The rear skid was OK, but I'm confused on the front springs. The manual says 250(hard) -263.5mm (soft) measured spring length. Mine measures 200mm as it is set now. Did this sled get the shock upgrade, or did the prior owner go too far on the preload and trash the springs? I can push it down so it's not rock-hard. Any ideas out there?

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the springs being set exactly to spec. The important thing is that the springs don't coil-bind (coils touch each other) when the suspension is fully compressed. If you like the way it rides and handles when you ride it, leave it alone. If not, make adjustments and go from there.

as stated wut really matters is how it handles..... does appear to be on the hard side tho.......i have found that the sled handles best when preload is backed off and softer.
