Hey guys i have a 2000 sxr 700 that i did some clutch work on. I set it up like Turk said I have stock springs with a 51/43 helix and 4.5 gram rivets in the iner hole with stock on the out side. Im hitting 8000 rpm what do i need to do to get it up to 8400?
Thanks

You have an issue
check to see if primary spring is sacked
did you wrap secondary spring at 3 & 3
is helix really a 51/43 or could it be an advant-edge 51/43?

i would check the primarry sping but i run a stock sping and had rings machined for 100-300 rpm gains.... just pop one in behind the spring for some extra rpm or take some out .... i would have to say it is for sure in you primarry sping...

Tighten the secondary - but like increasing the primary spring - it will raise the rpm the full range. This is to work with - what you have there.
Once you get that - you can work with the mid range - if it is over revving there.
Also - giving suggestionms on line is nuts - as you may have other problems - causing the low rpm. Did it rev out when stock?

I checked the numbers on the helix and its 8BVFA. the wrap on the secondary is 3 & 3. What do you mean by is the spring sacked? The spring is a new one from yamaha (I didnt have the org primary it had a y-w-y)
Thanks for the help
