Broken W-arm on a 97 sx 700. Can anybody tell me if a 2003 viper skid will bolt in to a 97 sx 700. The W-arm part number from the 97 super-cedes to the 03 viper. The skid from the 97 SX needs a lot of work to bring back to life (@$500.00), the viper skid is in excellent shape. How much difference in ride height ? I'm not really interested in changing the ride height of the front end on the SX, as it is not my sled to begin with, and the donor viper has considerable front end damage. Just trying to get someone back on the trail for next to nothing as far replacement parts/labor is concerned, as well as hoping to get a better ride from the swap. Anyone out there done the swap, does it bolt right in, and is there a benefit in ride quality? Thanks,
Johnnyc

Yes the Viper skid will bolt right in no problem. It has long travel, the SX has Short travel so the front end will suffer. It can be done and ridden that way for now but you will want the longer shocks up front to set the geometry correct for the sled. Many SRX guys put the long travel skid in and found the difference.

other thing you could do is use the viper skid with the limiter straps and shocks from the sx skid. that will work too. or you could just use the w arm if that is all you need. Be sure to check the bushings in the arms and grease it, too.
