A friend of mine has a 1996 vmax xt and wants to put a viper skid in it because his skid is sooooo worn out. Is this a direct bolt in????? I think that 96 was the first year of the proaction? Will he have to drill holes or will it just go in???? I did some searches but couldn't find any inifo.......... Thanks Rob 
Not the same, but it can be done....

So your saying that I am going to have to use new mounting holes correct?
Correct, I think someone put a newer skid in a 96, do a search and I think there is a thread on it...
Also spacers will be required.
