Hey guys I am runing stock set up and just did a GPS run and the fastest run was 104mph. Personaly I think thats a little low. its a 2001. Whats the first thing I should doing to get more top end. What speeds should I be getting?

well, thats a pretty open question, buts heres some questions that need information to point you in the right direction:

1.)whats the top end rpm?

2.)what tracks on the sled and does it have a zillion studs in it? how much slack doesit have under the hyfax when up on a stand?

3.)when was the last time the powervalves were cleaned and adjusted?

4.) how old is the belt, and do you know what the width is if its a used belt?

Im running 196 studs I havent cleaned the power valves, My max rpm's are 8400 rpm's, And the run was on a dirt road. I think I am running to much skis pressure. Should I try gearing or those it help it at all?

1st thing you need to do is clean those power valves! If they are gummed up or have cables pulled through then thats alot of your problem cause it`s not pulling top rpm.

speed

For benchmarking purposes, I have an 02 srx and I gps my top end all the time on logging roads, railbeds, and my top is 108. Have never tried it on bare ice.

Stock track, 144 studs, long traveled it with viper shocks.

I will definitly clean the valves and I think I am getting alot of drag by the carbides grinding in the sand on the road.

Hey I know that this is a question that alot of guys don't like to tell but what is the best angled helix for my sled?
